Malaysia My Second Home Programme, Gold Category
A fifteen year multiple-entry social visit pass bought with a USD 500,000 deposit and a RM 1,000,000 property purchase.
Gold is the tier that most clearly exposes what MM2H is selling. The deposit is USD 350,000 more than Silver and the property floor is RM 400,000 higher. What you get for that is ten extra years. You do not get work rights, you do not get a faster route to permanent residence, and you do not get a shorter presence requirement.

Application flow
- Confirm the 15 year horizon is what you are actually buying, and that you will not need the deposit or the property money before then.
- Appoint a MOTAC-licensed MM2H agent. Direct applications are not accepted.
- Document the USD 500,000 fixed deposit and a property purchase of at least RM 1,000,000.
- Pay the RM 3,000 participating fee plus processing fees, and budget for the property on top.
- The agent submits to the One Stop Centre MM2H. Expect 3 to 6 months in practice.
- Complete the property purchase after approval. The pass is revoked if the purchase does not happen.
- Track the 90 day annual presence requirement if you are aged 25 to 49.
Good fit
A couple in their mid fifties with USD 1.5 million or more who want fifteen years of certainty and were going to buy a RM 1 million property in Malaysia regardless. People for whom the extra USD 350,000 is an allocation decision rather than a stretch.
Poor fit
Anyone who reads “Gold” as premium permissions. It is not: only Platinum unlocks work, and PVIP does the same job for less money if working is the point. Also a poor fit for anyone who might want to leave Malaysia within a decade, because the property lock is 10 years.
Watchpoints
- Gold costs USD 350,000 more deposit than Silver and buys 10 extra years. Nothing else. Same family list, same work prohibition, same PR position.
- The participating fee is RM 3,000, ten times Silver’s, with no added benefit except term.
- The 90 day presence rule applies at Gold too, for ages 25 to 49. Paying more does not remove it.
- Property cannot be sold for 10 years. In a soft secondary market that is a real lock-in, not a technicality.
- No work rights at this price. If you intend to run a business locally, you are looking at Platinum or PVIP, not Gold.
- Fifteen years is still a visit pass. It expires, it renews in 5 year blocks, and it never becomes permanent residence.
