Visa Rumah Kedua Lansia untuk 1 Tahun (E33F)

The cheapest legal year in Indonesia for an older foreigner on a pension. It is granted one year at a time, needs no sponsor, and tests your pension rather than your savings.

The published requirements list a monthly income figure and a bank balance, and no age at all. The category is named “lanjut usia”, which means elderly, and in practice offices apply 55 or over, but the absence of an age in the official text is a refusal risk worth naming rather than papering over. The other thing to know is that this permit needs a sponsor, which for most applicants means an agent. The no-sponsor retirement route is E33E, not this one.

Application flow

  1. Confirm your office of residence will accept an applicant over 55, since the official text states no age.
  2. Arrange a sponsor, either an Indonesian individual or a company, or an agent acting as one.
  3. Prepare pension or allowance statements showing at least USD 3,000 a month, and a bank balance of at least USD 2,000.
  4. Apply online and pay the IDR 7,000,000 government fee.
  5. Enter within the visa validity window and complete ITAS issuance.
  6. Renew annually, keeping each renewal within the permit’s validity so the three year clock does not break.

Good fit

A retiree who wants the cheapest legal year in Indonesia and does not want to lock up USD 50,000. Someone testing a move before committing to the E33E deposit or a KITAP plan. A pensioner whose income is clean and documented and who is willing to pay an agent for the sponsor letter.

Poor fit

Anyone who wants certainty beyond a year, since this is renewed annually with no cap published and no guarantee. Anyone whose income is investment drawdown rather than pension, because the monthly figure has to be recurring and provable. Anyone who objects to using a sponsor, who should look at E33E instead.

Watchpoints

  1. There is no age requirement in the official text. The page lists income only. The category is elderly in name and the practice is 55 or over, but the gap is real and it is a refusal risk. Ask the intended office before paying.
  2. A sponsor is mandatory. For most applicants that means an agent, and the agent fee usually exceeds the government fee.
  3. It is cheap, and that is the whole appeal. IDR 7,000,000, about USD 389, for a year. Nothing else in the Indonesian system is close.
  4. One year at a time, indefinitely. No permanent residence until you have three consecutive years, and any gap between permits resets the count to zero.
  5. Work is barred. Not local employment, and not running a local business.
  6. Dependants are unclear. The page does not spell out family rights. Couples should assume two applications unless the issuing office says otherwise.
