Visa Rumah Kedua Lansia untuk 5 Tahun (E33E)

Indonesia sells this one under a name, the Silver Hair Visa. Five years, age 55 or over, no sponsor, USD 50,000 deposited.

This is the only retirement instrument in Indonesia that leads anywhere. The elderly are one of the four categories named in article 54 of the Immigration Act, so three consecutive years on an E33E can convert to KITAP. That conversion is the point of the visa and it is the step most agency pages leave out, because a one year renewal cycle is more profitable to sell than a permanent outcome.

Application flow

  1. Confirm age. The immigration page states 55, and the KITAP conversion checklist refers to 60 and over for the elderly category. Get the intended office of residence to confirm in writing before paying anything.
  2. Open a USD deposit account at a state-owned bank and fund it to USD 50,000.
  3. Assemble proof of USD 3,000 monthly income: a pension statement, annuity contract or equivalent recurring payment.
  4. Apply online at evisa.imigrasi.go.id and pay the fee.
  5. Enter Indonesia within the visa validity window and complete ITAS issuance.
  6. Maintain the deposit for the whole permit. Do not draw it down.
  7. At year 3, decide between KITAP conversion and the 5 year extension.

Good fit

A retiree at 55 or over with USD 50,000 genuinely spare and USD 3,000 a month of pension or annuity income, who wants five years of residence, no sponsor and a real permanent residence path. A couple where both meet the income test gets two permits and two clocks.

Poor fit

Someone who needs the deposit to live on, because it has to sit in the bank untouched. Anyone under 55, or whose income is investment drawdown rather than recurring pension income. Anyone who wants to work locally for an Indonesian employer.

Watchpoints

  1. The age floor is disputed at the counter. The official page says 55. Several law firms and agencies say 60 for the Silver Hair branding, and the KITAP checklist uses 60. The official text wins on paper, but a local office may apply 60, so confirm before paying.
  2. It is USD 50,000, not USD 130,000. Agencies routinely quote the general second home deposit here. The E33E figure is less than half.
  3. Income must be recurring and provable. A USD 3,000 monthly pension statement works. A savings balance does not, and neither does a projected portfolio yield.
  4. The deposit is a guarantee, not an investment. It stays at the committed level for the life of the permit, and it earns only the bank’s rate.
  5. The KITAP step is the reason to choose this over E33F. Three continuous years as an elderly ITAS holder, filed at least 30 days before expiry, with a signed integration statement.
  6. Ten year ceiling. Even without conversion, the instrument stops at ten years. Conversion is the only way past it.
